The workshop will be held in rooms K.0.0.1, I.2.01 and HS 3 at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt, Austria, which is located at the beautiful lake Wörthersee. Here is map of the University area.

For accomodation see e.g. Klagenfurt Tourismus

In walking distance to the University we recommend Pension Wachau or Seepark Hotel.

The University is not in the city center, however, there are reasonable bus connections (day / night) from the city center to the University, online bus schedule. Furthermore, it is very convenient to go around by bike, for bike rentals check here for the price and here for the places or nextbike to rent a bike.
Also, some of the hotels offer bikes to rent.

Travelling to Klagenfurt

For travelling to Klagenfurt by train, see OEBB

Klagenfurt airport has direct flights from/to Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin (germanwings, not daily!) and Vienna (Austrian Airlines).

You may also consider arriving at one of the neighboring airports, preferable Ljubljana or Graz but also Triest, Venice Marco Polo, Treviso.

From Klagenfurt Airport to the University/Seepark Hotel/Pension Wachau:

Klagenfurt airport is not very well connected by public transport. There is only one bus (number 42) leaving once an hour (always at xx:56, starting from 5:56 a.m. until 6:56 p.m.). Get off at Heiligengeistplatz and change to bus number 81 (direction University/Krottendorf), then you get off at Ginzkeygasse (for Pension Wachau) or at Universitätsstrasse (for the University or the Seepark Hotel). The bus ticket costs 2,10 Euros and can be bought on the bus.
A taxi from the airport costs around 20 Euros.

Shared shuttles from neighbouring airports:

Check out GoOpti for a transfer from the neighbouring airports to your hotel in Klagenfurt.

Public transport from neighbouring airports:

Arriving at Ljubljana airport you take the Alpe-Adria-Line (a one-way ticket is 17 EUR).
See https://www.alpeadrialine.com/en/timetable.html

Arriving at Venice Marco Polo airport you take the ATVO bus to Mestre railway station and then the train or IC Bus to Klagenfurt. See http://www.veniceairport.it/en/transport/venezia-mestre-station.html and http://www.oebb.at/en/
